Dr. Crisfield

September 2008

On behalf of the entire Warren community, I would like to welcome you to the Warren K-8 schools.

We’ve got great things in store for the 2008-09 school year! Our schools have been scrubbed, polished and buffed, we’ve hired an impressive new crop of teachers, and our existing teaching staff members have thrived in a number of curriculum-related professional development opportunities this summer. In addition to the laser focus we will always have on providing a rock solid, high-end academic program for all our students, I am happy to report that an environmental theme is popping up through many of our new programs this year . Grants (a welcome source of outside funding!) are in hand for student-led recycling projects at all our schools, a comprehensive energy conservation program is in place district-wide, and one school (ALT) has even chosen “Going Green” for its annual theme. Let it not be said that the Warren schools aren’t friends of the environment!

Indeed, all of us educators look forward to this time of year. Seeing all those little smiling faces, eager to learn and excited to meet their classmates and teachers, is what fuels us. We know you share that same enthusiasm and together we will enjoy another great school year I am sure. Welcome back!
